Exercising regularly effectively improves physical and mental health of already healthy people, improves their happiness and makes them more productive. It also prevents the development of many chronic diseases. We have shown that exercise is an excellent therapeutic intervention for obesity, cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, fibromyalgia, dementia, osteoporosis, depression, as well as certain types of cancer.
Survival after cancer is increasing in Europe as a result of early diagnosis and improvements in treatment. It is estimated that there are around 17.8 million people who have a history of cancer.
The UCEENS has vast experience in the study of obesity physiology and its prevention and treatment through nutrition and probiotics and functional foods supplementation approaches.
