Description
The Scientific Unit of Excellence on Exercise, Nutrition and Health (in Spanish Unidad Científica de Excelencia en Ejercicio, Nutrición y Salud, UCEENS) focuses on the research of the benefits of exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle in the prevention and treatment of the main chronic non-communicable diseases of the 21st century. The UCEENS is a multidisciplinary Unit of Excellence, which combines 3 large research lines:
- Exercise Physiology
- Nutritional Biochemistry
- Physical Therapy in Sports and Cancer
The UCEENS comprises researchers from five University Departments:
- Physical Education and Sports
- Physiology
- Physical Therapy
- Health Sciences, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
- Radiology and Physical Medicine
The combination of the knowledge and skills of Research Guarantors, Doctors and Predoctoral trainees makes possible substantial advances in the frontiers of knowledge.
